Weekly Photo Challenge: Boundaries

Hello!

I know, I know, I have been absent for a few days, missing all these posts that I have to make. I know.

I was busy, as I mentioned previously that I was out of town and the Internet connection was just horrible that I thought maybe I should just take a break from all my posting – especially the daily ones. The DailyPost has been trying their best, but hey, you cannot win them all, eh?

This week they started the Weekly Photo Challenge, and with that in mind, I checked my recently taken photos during my trip, and I found one that just might suit the theme.

Boundaries.

Boundaries has many concepts or interpretations. For some, it could be the distance between two islands that set up boundaries. For some, it could be language barriers. There are also those that have physical barriers, like prison bars, bedroom walls, building walls, or maybe as clear as glass.

My photo depicts the last boundary, which is clear glass. To be specific, there is a barrier between myself and the scrumptious dessert on the display case at Nothing But Desserts in Smallville, Iloilo City:

Mmm.. scrumptious, delicious, heavenly, divine, and totally not good for me!

BUT, I managed to cross that boundary and insisted on buying one even if it was not within my budget. What can I say? Desserts will be the death of me!

In a way, this would be my 52 week challenge for the year to post pictures! Yay me!

I need cash for books

My 2011 goal has not moved an inch!

OH NO!

While I do have 2 books that are coming as soon as I find money to pay for it, I have gotten into a small problem money-wise, and I am $7 dollars short. Now I cannot buy the two books that I have been waiting for. So yeah, NEED CASH FOR BOOKS! I am currently contemplating if I should hold one of those cardboard signs used by homeless folk.

On the other hand, I have not given up entirely. I am still reading whenever I have the time, or when my brain is not too exhausted to think.

Currently, I am reading one of the “Bartimeaus Trilogy” by Jonathan Stroud books which I was able to purchase for $2 which I nabbed from the sale box at our local bookstore. I happen to love it!

I will keep you posted as soon as I manage to finish it though.

Wish me luck!

A tribute

Flowers.

My grandmother loved flowers a lot. She had this beautiful garden where all sorts of blowers bloomed. From orchids to anthuriums, hydrangeas, roses, morning glory, and all those nice blooms. My grandmother just delighted in them.

Flowers.

The scent of flowers, the beauty of a garden, the comfort and sheer pleasure nature can offer, I found that in my grandmother’s garden.

I will miss my grandmother so much, but the memory of her and her garden as well as all other sweet memories will forever remain in my heart.

Flowers.

To her I offer a photo of flowers I took the other day, as a small tribute and thanksgiving for all that she has given me.

Sometimes when we shoot

Today, my litle girl and I went on a litlte photowalk.

Well, it was basically me and her walking around after I fetched her from her classes, and I wanted to relax a bit.

Did I tell you that I find photography soothing and relaxing. Perhaps that is why I miss it so much.

I am slowly getting back on my feet and taking pictures, but my camera is still not working as well as I hoped it would. I do need a better one, but funds are low, and debts are high. So I just use what I have just so I can have fun.

Sometimes when we shoot, it generates a smile.

This time, the photo was taken by my camera and no longer using my cameraphone. Photo is SOOC (straight out of camera).

Missing photography

It has been a few months since I picked up my camera and started shooting.

Yes, aside from writing, I also dabble in some light photography. When I say light, I do mean, really light, because I am not exactly that good. But you know, I love taking pictures and capturing moments and whatever catches my fancy.

You’d think I’m crazy, but I really cannot recall why I stopped. One day, I just stopped and that was it.

I guess it was because I stopped carrying my camera and took shots using my phone instead.

But now I miss it.

Maybe I will go back and take shots once more. Just for the heck of it, and maybe we can make a story or so with it huh?

I do miss taking pictures. If it were not night time in my area, I would shoot something right now. But, no, I will wake for morning to come and take my breath away. I leave you with a piece taken last January 2 early in the morning using my phone’s camera.

Be back later with more stories folks!
